A system that recognises self-defence in the physical, legal, and political realms, yet insists that magical force must remain permanently disarmed, is not morally coherent.
Vindicta arises when harm has been clearly established, when other avenues are unsafe, inaccessible, or exhausted, and when imbalance continues to exact a cost from those least able to carry it. It also engages proactively when baneful intent is forming—intercepting cruelty before it lands by redirecting the perpetrator’s own karmic energy back toward them, ensuring correction occurs before damage is done. In both cases, facilitating consequences is simply energetic correction.

Vindicta encompasses a broader field of work. Hexes and curses are part of long-standing magical traditions and are recognized here as legitimate tools of retaliation and restoration. They are neither dismissed nor sensationalized.
Not all Vindicta work involves hexing or cursing. Many situations are addressed through protection, containment, redirection, or return-to-source principles. Sometimes, though, someone absolutely deserves to have their karma put through an amplifier, and baneful work is exactly what’s called for.
The magic itself determines what’s proportional. Vindicta is designed to only engage where correction is warranted—it won’t escalate beyond what’s needed, and it won’t activate at all if there’s no real imbalance present.
